Grounding techniques are a fantastic way to control your emotions in the moment. Sometimes feelings can come on strongly in a short period of time (e.g. feeling anxious about something).
Without a coping mechanism, it can be easy for these to ‘snowball’ or spiral out of control as you link one feeling and thought to another. This can result in things like panic attacks and feeling overwhelmed.
